Department of English, Trust University Barishal

The mission and vision of the Department of English of Trust University Barishal is to promote Bangladeshi young learners as skilled manpower capable of overcoming the challenges of the 21st century in the global socio-economic context, particularly through the effective use of English as an international language. The department strives to create opportunities for learners to use English as a tool for enriching their socio-cultural, academic, and professional lives.

The department provides a supportive environment that encourages students to develop a habit of using English confidently in everyday communication. A primary objective is to eliminate the fear of English among Bangladeshi learners and to emphasize its critical importance in global communication. To achieve this goal, the department offers a unique curriculum combining language, literature, and linguistics.

The ultimate vision is to develop learners’ overall competence in English, ensuring balanced mastery of reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, and to prepare students as enlightened global citizens capable of contributing to a knowledge-based society.
