The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology offers the 4-Year B.Sc. Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The course curricula consist of theoretical classes, laboratory sessions, project works, viva voce and etc. The academic program of the 4-Year Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Degree course consists of 8 semesters each of 6-months duration and a total of 148 credit hours.

The B. Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology degree requirements

The B. Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology degree requirements are as follows:

Completion of 49 courses (148 credits) including internship / project of 6 credits. Students with relevant academic background enjoying waivers may complete the degree with fewer courses but has to meet the minimum requirement of the degree of 44 courses (133 credit hours).
Passing of all courses individually and maintaining a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.5.
The minimum passing grade for internship/project report is ‘C’

Frequency of Admission

Admission at the BMB Program will be held 2 (two) terms/semesters in a year. The Semester in an academic year will be as follows:

Spring: January – June

Fall: July – December

As per UGC guideline,

Total Weeks in a Semester = 18 Weeks
Total Class Weeks in a Semester = 15 Weeks
Classes per Week = 2 Classes
Class duration = 1 hour- 30 Minutes.
