MESSAGE FROM CHAIRMAN

The Department of English, at Trust University Barishal, Bangladesh, established in 2018 as one of the founding departments of the university aspires to produce competent graduates, professionals, researchers and beyond. Currently, the department has more than 300 students and is offering two distinct programs, namely B.A Hons and MA. in English. The standard of education and admission to these programs comply with the guidelines and policies set by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

This royal department is more than just a place of academic pursuit, it's a community of scholars, innovators, and change-makers. Its curriculum is designed to be rigorous, and responsive to the demands of the ever-evolving world. As a part of transforming itself into a unique department, it will never cease to impart quality education by offering courses incorporating language, linguistics, and literature. It offers various interdisciplinary courses like communicative English, Business English, Professional Intensive English, Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing English etc.

The English department boasts of state-of-the-art infrastructure, a well-equipped and spacious library, a hi-tech language lab, a career counselling cell, and the co-curricular and extracurricular programs offered for young learners' overall mental and physical growth to thrive academically, professionally and personally. Technology-based teaching methodologies coupled with utmost care and attention to the students' growing academic needs. It has also been involved in research activities across various fields of literature and ELT and encourages students to participate in national and international conferences, workshops, training programs, departmental seminars etc.

Notably, the Department of English is embellished with highly qualified faculty members, each excelling in their respective fields of interest. Committed to ensuring the best quality education, we uphold elevated values and morals maintaining the most decent environment for both our students and faculty.
